Privacy Statement

LIUNA is committed to protecting your privacy. LIUNA maintains the privacy of your information using security technologies and adheres to policies that prevent unauthorized use of your personal information.

WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT, AND HOW IS IT USED?

LIUNA collects personal information from visitors when they register to join an organization, subscribe to a newsletter, or take action on an issue using our service. The personal information we collect is always voluntarily submitted by you or is based on the information you have submitted, such as identifying your member of Congress based on the ZIP code you provided or identifying your LIUNA region based on the Local Union membership information that you provided. This information is used by us to communicate with you in the future (if you have given your permission for such contact), to send messages from you to decision-makers which you have authorized, and to understand your interests and activities. We keep confidential all personal information entered during registration and never share it with any organization or entity outside of the Laborers’ Union.

In some instances, we will share information with various entities within the Laborers Union. For example, by joining the International’s Laborers Action Network your information may also be shared with regional Laborers Action Networks of the Union. Likewise, if you join a regional Laborers Action Network, your information may be shared with the International’s Laborers Action Network. In addition, information you provide to the union offline as part of your membership may be stored with Laborers Action Network databases in order to further tailor communication to your interests and needs.

If, for any reason, you would like to be removed from any or all of our email lists, you can unsubscribe by simply visiting your subscription management page on our website and clicking the unsubscribe button, or you can opt-out of future emails by simply stating this desire in a reply to any email we send you.

LIUNA may also monitor and track information such as visitor usage patterns of our websites. We compile this information into a statistical aggregate which we use for internal purposes including improving our web service and our email service.

PROTECTING YOUR PRIVACY

As part of our commitment to ensuring the privacy of our visitors, LIUNA does not sell or exchange names or any other personally identifiable information about our online visitors and members with mass marketers or any other organization outside of the Laborers’ International Union and its affiliates. Cookies are pieces of information that are stored on your computer and that can be used to help identify you when you visit our website. LIUNA uses cookies to make visiting and using our websites easier-- first, so that you don't have to continually re-enter information, and second so that we can tailor your visit to your expressed preferences.
